50 years aged to perfection!

There is this amazing man named Andrew in my life who usually washes all the dishes once I'm finished baking & playing with sugar in our kitchen. I have known him  for 12 years so far & have watched him age better then the finest wine you will ever find. For about 4 years now I had this idea of making a wine bottle cake for him and finally the day came!! I think I was more excited to make his cake then he was about celebrating 50 years! hahaha Vanilla/chocolate marble cake, buttercream icing, fondant, toasted shredded coconut, gold edible spray, & edible image! I'd have to say the toasted coconut was the bomb!!

Everyone should have an amazing half century cake instead of the typical over the hill stuff. 50 is so classy & fabulous! I arranged a small surprise party at a local winery restaurant. We had a blast with some close friends and the cake tasted amazing! Here's to your next 50 years my love!! Bring on that full century cake!!! Any ideas on the cake design for that one?

The only thing I would change is making the lettering on the label darker. I couldn't fix it once it was printed & didn't realize it would come out so light. It says: Murray Vineyards, Aged 50 years to perfection, Andrew, 1964

Seriously just look at him? Oh my...& he's all mine! :)

Monogram Sprinkles Cake

Sprinkles are so simply and super fun! We celebrated my daughters 9th birthday and had more sprinkles then we knew what to do with. They are so used to huge cakes & parties but we decided on something more simply this year. She loved it. Chocolate/Strawberry cake with vanilla buttercream icing, sprinkles & chocolate candy balls around the bottom.

Dove Cupcakes

Doves are my new favorite bird! After hand cutting over a dozen of these beautiful fondant doves why wouldn't they be my favorite? After finishing this project I almost wanted to go buy some doves to release them! ha! These cupcakes were for a baby shower. The mom to be gave her daughter a Spanish name that means dove. What a lovely graceful name! Vanilla/Chocolate cake, Vanilla buttercream icing, disco dust for sparkle on the fondant hand cut doves. May that sweet baby girl always spread her wings & soar through life!

A Special Horse Cake

I'd have to say that this cake is one of the most meaningful cakes I've ever made. I have waited over a year to get a request from Icing Smiles to make a cake for a child struggling with a medical illness. When I received the call to duty I could barely contain my excitement! Can you believe I had to wait 2 months to make & deliver this cake? I don't know how I managed to wait ha! There is a sweet little girl named Claire who is an amazing fighter. She has been through alot medically and I am happy to report that she is currently doing much better. We are praying that her health continues to improve daily! At the time I made this cake she had never rode a horse but shortly after she had her first horse ride! How cool is that? Nothing beats blessing someone with a cake & making them smile :) Vanilla cake, vanilla buttercream icing, disco dust for sparkle & fondant decorations. Please check out the amazing organization! http://icingsmiles.org/

3D Cars Mcqueen & Mater Cakes

The one & only son I have in my life turned 3 years old recently. He loves the movie Cars so of course requested a Lightening Mcqueen & Mater Cakes. I tried to get him to pick one but his "please please please mommy I want both" won my heart over so I got to work! I am so thankful for this sweet little son I have & I couldn't ask for a better one to share my life with! He loved mater the tow truck the most but his eyes just lit up when he saw both cakes! It was so worth the time & effort to make his special day great! After finishing the first cake & starting the second cake I was AMAZED that he he let the first cake sit on the table until I finished the second one! ONLY a baker's son would let both cakes sit on the table all day until the celebration that night! ha! Any other 3yr old would have had their hands in the cakes as soon as I got them finished! Looking forward to making more cakes for my likkle DJ! Lighting Mcqueen is vanilla cake, vanilla buttercream icing, fondant covered & fondant decorations. Mater is chocolate cake, vanilla buttercream icing, fondant covered & fondant decorations.

Oooohh La La Paris Cake!!!

My second daughter turned 7 years old this weekend & requested a Paris themed birthday. I was thrilled about this & went a bit over board on the cake & decorations as you can imagine! How on earth could I not though? Paris is absolutely amazing & in the prep work for the party I have falling in love with the place. We will have to take a family trip ASAP! Vanilla cake, vanilla buttercream, fondant decorations, royal icing Eiffel Tower, non edible cake bling for the border. Fashion forward!!! Cheers to many more celebrations & cakes to make for my babies! Stay tuned for a cars cake for my son in a few weeks :)

German Chocolate Cake

A friend at my mom's work loves German chocolate cake & since it was his birthday of course he couldn't let it pass by without a massive cake in his favorite flavor!! Cheers to many more years to celebrate.

I Do!!! Dasiy Wedding Cake!

This cake was a very special cake for 2 very special long time friends. They live in Jamaica & I had the pleasure of flying down to decorate this cake that the grooms mom made. I could have made the cake but due to time restraint/other duties I had to assist with during the wedding I only decorated this time. I loved decorating this cake & the colors the bride & groom picked were simply beautiful. To my dear friends may you have a wonderfully long marriage full of love!!! If any one deserves all the best it is this couple. CHEERS to your union my friends! Jamaican black cake, almond buttercream, & fondant decorations.
